ELIGIBILITY OFFICER - ASL 4
The Department of Health is seeking two individuals to join the Medicare and Physician Services Branch as Eligibility Officers in Fredericton. One position is a full-time position and the other is a temporary opportunity (2 years).
As a member of the Medicare and Physician Services Branch, the successful candidate will be responsible for determining status and eligibility of residents applying for health insurance under the New Brunswick Medicare Program.
To ensure sound eligibility decisions, the officer will be interpreting acts, regulations and policies, processing extensive volumes of data entry, using various investigation sources/tools, preparing correspondence, and liaising with various stakeholders such as inter-provincial, federal and State agencies. The candidate will also research and investigate the accuracy of information provided.
All tasks must be performed with a high degree of accuracy. This work requires a high level of discretion in dealing with confidential information, knowledge of team dynamics, and good communication and interpersonal skills. Candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma, supplemented by a (1) year completed post-secondary diploma in a related field, and five (5) years of related experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

Salary: $1,644 to $1,997 bi-weekly
