The Opportunity:

Country Ribbon is looking for a Controller who will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Additionally, the Controller oversees daily operations and activities of the accounting and purchasing team.

The Role:

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Controller will be responsible to:

  • Prepare and/or analyze journal entries and GL accounts, bank statements, inventories, expenditures, tax returns, and other accounting and financial records, documents, and statements to ensure financial recording accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Assist in establishing financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards.
  • Prepare financial statements, analyze financial data, and provide financial reports and advice.
  • Assess accounting operations and systems, offer recommendations for continuous improvement, and implement new processes.
  • Oversee purchasing and assist in the procurement process of required supplies and ingredients.
  • Plan, administer, and control budgets for contracts, equipment, and supplies.
  • Provide leadership to the accounting and purchasing team and manage training, performance management, employee coaching, scheduling and leave management.
  • Ensure departmental health and safety practices including safe work procedures are followed by the team.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Completion of some post-secondary education in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
  • Minimum 5 years accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role.
  • Excellent leadership skills including strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Exceptionable analytical and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
