Jump Recruitment, on behalf of our client Fer-Pal Infrastructure, is seeking a Welder to join their operations in the Greater Toronto Area. This is a full time position.
FER-PAL Infrastructure Ltd. is at the leading edge of the water main rehabilitation industry. FER-PAL Infrastructure is looking to hire a full time Welder who is able to work shifts and weekends. This position reports to the Fleet Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities

A welder at Fer-Pal welds, assembles and fabricates metal components in both the repair of trucks, trailers, and other similar equipment as well as in the production of innovative industrial equipment.

Capabilities required for this position:

  • Following safe work practices, understand and use the industrial health and safety rules and regulations including daily clean workplace practices.
  • Can read, understand and work from the blueprints and sketches.
  • Planning and ordering parts and materials using existing processes.
  • Using basic tool room equipment and tools including milling and lathe machines, and drill presses, to prepare parts prior to welding and finish the welded assemblies according to the engineering instructions and drawings.
  • Fully capable of manual and automated welding including:
    • Welding in flat and vertical planes (all position welding), profiled tubes, sheet metal and aluminum assemblies.
    • Examining weld for bead size and other specifications.
    • Grinding and/or cleaning weld joint of work piece.
    • Repairing improperly welded pieces and fill holes
    • Positioning and clamping work pieces together or assemble them in a jig fixture.
    • Tacking assemblies together.
  • Ability to fabricate new or replacement parts for trucks, trailers, and other specialized equipment.
  • Can assemble component parts using hand and small power tools.
  • Ability to work well individually as well as working as part of a team.
  • Work may involve changing hoses, fittings, air valves, suspension parts, and other equipment maintenance/repair.

Qualifications

Work Experience required for this position:

  • Minimum of 2 years related working experience
  • Steel/Aluminum experience needed.
  • Wire-feed and electrode welding
  • Plasma and gas cutting
  • Mechanical with hydraulics
  • Wrenching experience
  • Fabrications with welding

Education:

  • High school, professional college with certificates of completion.
  • Valid G driver's license required with clean abstract
