We are excited to be expanding our accounting department and are currently hiring for the position of:

TERM ACCOUNTANT (12 months)

Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Location: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

Role Summary:
The successful candidate's primary purpose is to provide sound financial services to RRSS while acting as a member of the Accounting Department Team.

Reporting to the Controller your responsibilities will include the following:

  • A combination of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll.
  • Preparation and processing of journal entries.
  • Month-end and year-end procedures.
  • Documentation preparation for submission and reconciliation.

Qualifications:

  • Accounting degree or diploma.
  • Experience in an audited environment an asset.
  • Must be an extremely detail-oriented, fast learner with exceptional time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization in a professional manner.
  • Dedicated team player, who demonstrates initiative and independence.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Dynamics).

Other requirements upon conditional offer of employment:

  • Applicants will be required to provide a copy of their degree/diploma.
  • Clear criminal record check.

COMPENSATION:
Competitive compensation, including health and dental benefits, Life Insurance, LTD, AD&D, EFAP, and Group RRSP.
