We are looking for a Specialist - Learning and Development,you will workwith Senior Manager. The Specialist-Learning and Development will be part of a dynamic Learning and Development (L&D) team. They will work directly with various stakeholders to identify and analyze needs, design & development, implement and evaluation of the existing and new learning solutions. The incumbent's role is to facilitate learners' experience in acquiring knowledge, skills and competencies in an effective and appealing manner.
In this role, you will:
  • Conduct research and analysis on learning, contexts and needs
  • Work with subject matter experts to identify target audience's learning paths
  • Create or update engaging and compelling learning solutions and activities (blended or classroom, online, virtual, videos, job aids, simulations, role plays, games, facilitator and participant guides, etc.) that enhances retention and transfer
  • Create learning assessments and evaluate learning success and impact
  • Maintain project documentation and course folders
  • Apply tested learning and development theories, practice and methods

What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree or formal training/certification in adult education and/or instructional design or instructional technology
  • Minimum of 5 years of job-related work experience with comprehensive knowledge of ADDIE, Bloom, Kirkpatrick models and adult education principles in varied forms of delivery - from purely classroom based to virtually led, to stand-alone e-learning and other learning solutions
  • Strong experience developing technical learning solutions that support introduction of new system, technology and software
  • Must have strong verbal and writing skills in English. Verbal and written communication skills in French is preferred.
  • Experience working within a project management environment is an asset
  • Solid background in learning program development and delivery
  • Passion for developing and delivering engaging training that makes a difference to clients
  • A self-starter and able to work in an environment with ambiguity
  • Knowledge and experience of effective use of Microsoft Office suite, Sharepoint, Photoshop, Adobe Connect, ZOOM, Blackboard, Storyline, Captivate, Moodle/LMS
  • Strong analytical, critical and creative thinking skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment
  • Displays a strong commitment to gender equality and social inclusion

Working conditions:
  • The majority of the work is performed remotely/home office with regular virtual meetings.
  • May include long to moderate hours sitting and using computers and office equipment.
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours on short notice
  • Ability to work in stressful and often ambiguous conditions.
  • Successfully complete a Canadian criminal record reference check and vulnerable sector check
