As a Senior HR Lead in Emergencies, you will provide strategic and tactical human resources leadership and assume responsibility for the functional planning, workforce planning, and overall quality and risk management of the services provided by People Services departments in accordance with CRC established policies and procedures, relevant legislation, and government guidelines.
Responsabilities and duties
  • Partner with operational leads to ensure workforce requirements are in place to meet the services delivery expectations of the response operation
  • As a focal point between operations and internal teams, provide briefings to the leadership team while ensuring consistent communication across all areas and levels in the organization
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of corporate-wide HR policies, processes and systems
  • Manage workforce planning and scheduling in alignment to the operational budgets; develop ongoing team schedules and ensure proper on-site setup of operations, including required space, equipment, tools and supplies
  • Coach managers, employees and volunteers on HR matters including interpreting HR processes and policies, employee/volunteer relations, recruitment, health and safety, incidents, performance management, compensation, and change management
  • Contribute to the recruitment and engagement of personnel to maintain readiness; and ensure appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics are in place.

What we are looking for
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field
  • Eight (8) years progressive experience as an HR Generalist, Business Partner or equivalent senior management experience, including three (3) years experience leading or supervising a team. An equivalent combination of education and management experience will be considered.
  • Experience in developing and implementing workforce strategies and programs (e.g., workforce planning, compensation, development, performance management)
  • Must be able to read, write and deliver services in English. Bilingualism is a strong asset.
  • CHRP/CRHA designation or experience as a member of the People Services Emergency Operations are assets

Working conditions
  • The majority of the work is performed in a virtual office setting, requiring reliable access to a private workspace, computer, high speed internet and a phone
  • Frequent deployments, meetings or training sessions will require attendance at CRC offices and off-site meeting location
  • Regular travelling in Canada required. If working in a response site, health and safety considerations will be outlined prior to the assignment
  • Ability to work non-traditional and longer hours often on short notice including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
  • This position requires a satisfactory Canadian criminal record check or an Enhanced Police Information Check (EPIC).
  • If driving for society business, a valid driver's license is required with a satisfactory drivers' abstract.
