The successful candidate will recruit, train and supervise volunteers, as well as implement the EM volunteer structure and activities according to the requirements set out by management in the assigned area in order to achieve certain objectives.
As a response manager, you will:
  • Implement the volunteer resources structure in your assigned area.
  • Manage the volunteer human resources allocated to the EM department for your assigned area.
  • Adapt the strategies for recruiting, leading, and supervising response teams to achieve your objectives.
  • Optimize the response capacity of resources as relates to EM department activities.
  • Participate in developing and implementing standards and procedures related to response activities.
  • Produce activity reports on the accomplishments of the teams under your responsibility.
  • Represent the CRC with partners. Develop and maintain appropriate relationships with community organizations.
  • Be available during local and international relief operations.

We are looking for:
  • A college diploma in recreation, ambulance, or police services, social sciences and humanities, or the equivalent.
  • Experience in emergency management and response.
  • Experience leading or managing a group.
  • Experience with a volunteer network is an asset.
  • Ability to write activity reports.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft suite.
  • Fluency in French and English is required.

Working conditions:
  • This position is unionized full time (35 hours a week) and offers a flexible schedule.
  • Full vaccination against COVID-19 is mandatory for this position and operation (the CRC will however adhere to its duty to accommodate those who are unable to be fully vaccinated for a reason related to a human right protected ground)
