The Mobilization Team identifies, deploys, and schedules personnel to respond to emergencies across multiple provinces and sites in Canada. The Supervisor guides a team of coordinators in executing on workforce priorities, ensuring excellent attention to detail and providing an exceptional customer service experience for our dedicated volunteers.
As a supervisor, you will:
  • Champion and contribute to work practices to ensure focus, efficiency, excellent customer service, and wellbeing of team members
  • Review, contribute and enforce use of mobilization procedures, tools and systems and implement mechanisms for the mobilization team to quickly shift in size and scope in response to changing requirements
  • Provide orientation, training, coaching and supervision for assigned mobilization team members
  • Assign work priorities to Mobilization Coordinators, follow up, resolve issues as needed, and escalate to the Mobilization Lead as required
  • Obtain and review personnel availability information and identify personnel with the appropriate profile and availability to fill work force requirements
  • Coordinate the beginning to end scheduling and deployment of personnel into responses, including ensuring files are updated, travel arrangements are made, and effective information exchange between the mobilization team, the volunteers and the field
  • Ensure accurate and complete tracking of information and data to meet health and safety and reporting requirements
  • Report daily against workforce plan requirements and outstanding gaps
  • Timely forecasting and communication of challenges in meeting workforce needs and escalation to the Mobilization Lead

What we are looking for:
  • Relevant education and experience such as College diploma in a related discipline (Human Resources, Volunteer Resources, Business. Administration, Contact Centre Support) and/or 1-2 years of client service experience, preferably in a recruitment or contact centre environment
  • Experience providing client service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Experience working with remote teams and volunteers a definite asset
  • Proven to be solutions-oriented, proactive, flexible and diligent in executing on process and meeting workforce needs
  • Professionalism, credibility, personal accountability and exceptional interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team and establish and manage productive internal and external relationships
  • Ability to work in fast paced and often ambiguous conditions
  • Excellent communication skills with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
  • Superior time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks in response to unexpected changes in priorities/requests
  • Computer and numerical literacy, experience working with systems and spreadsheets
  • Fluency (speaking, reading and writing) in English is essential; fluency in French is highly desirable
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.

Working conditions:
  • The majority of the work is performed in typical office environment and can be a combination of work within the Canadian Red Cross office and the occasional agreed upon time to work from home
  • Ability to be on-call, work shifts, non-traditional and longer hours often on short notice
  • Travel may be required, including deployment to difficult/restricted locations
  • Full vaccination against COVID-19 is mandatory for this position and operation (the CRC will however adhere to its duty to accommodate those who are unable to be fully vaccinated for a reason related to a human right protected ground)
