Not only is the department responsible for managing over 18,000 kilometers of provincial highways, it also manages the planning, design and construction of hospitals, schools and other government buildings.

What you will do

You will work under the direction of the Subdivision Coordinator and will be involved in field and office work in relation to subdivision projects. You will be responsible for:

  • monitoring and inspecting work to ensure compliance with departmental standards and specifications;
  • liaison between the Department and contractors, landowners or other agencies;
  • quality assurance;
  • ensuring safety on work sites; and
  • may involve supervision of Departmental staff.

Work environment

  • Office location: 440 King Street, Fredericton
  • Open office layout
  • Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30 
  • We promote a scent-reduced environment.
  • Some travel within the Province will be required.

Essential qualifications

Engineering and Field Level VI:

  • Diploma from a two (2) year Civil Engineering Technology program with and four (4) to five (5) years of related work experience.
  • Valid class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Asset Qualifications

  • Experience with road construction / field supervision
  • Experience with soil testing
  • Experience with Geographic Information System (GIS)

SALARY: $1,960.00 to $2,465.00 bi-weekly (based on a 36 ¼ hour work week).
