The Role:
We are seeking a Purchasing Manager to join our team of professionals in our Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick office. Reporting to the Global Director of Purchasing, this is a wonderful opportunity to grow your experience, utilize your strong leadership skills, provide exceptional customer service, and manage everyday growth.
You will be a self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, assertive follow-through, and a passion for the highest level of customer satisfaction. You possess the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and thrive in a fast-moving dynamic environment. Solid judgement, strong critical-thinking and decision-making skills with a keen eye for detail are also key attributes. Proven work experience in a Purchasing Manager role would be preferred. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management would be ideal, however, completion of or enrollment in Supply Chain Canada's SCMP designation program would be considered an asset.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing local purchasing strategies.
  • Managing daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks.
  • Identify, track and report on key performance indicators that are designed to reduce expenses and improve departmental effectiveness.
  • Working with stakeholders to develop forecasts of demands; determining quantities needed and the timing of future delivery requirements and to ensure that all procured items and services meet the required quality standards and technical specifications.
  • Craft and implement negotiation strategies that result in supplier agreements with optimal commercial terms.
