Administrative Services Officer

(ASL 3)


The Department of Health is seeking an individual to join the Corporate Support and Infrastructure Division as an Administrative Services Officer in Fredericton. 

Reporting to the Manager of Records and Information Management, the successful candidate will be a member of a multidisciplinary team working in a challenging, fast-paced work environment.

The duties are, but are not limited to: The creation, classification, organization and management of the department's corporate records; archiving and retrieving documents and library holdings using Content Manager version 9.3; customer service; processing inter-library loan requests; processing the library's journal holdings and payments and applying established retention schedules and document imaging.

The successful candidate will also be responsible to provide a variety of administrative support services to clients, the general public and all levels of staff within the office. Responsibilities include: Translation and Interpretation request fulfillment, receiving and responding to a wide range of routine telephone inquiries and/or walk-in clients, providing general information, directing clients and/or the general public to the appropriate employee or resource, photocopying and scanning services, data entry, mail outs, and other administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma, supplemented by the successful completion of a one year post-secondary diploma in a related field and a minimum of three (3) years related experience to include experience in Microsoft Office Suite; OR a High school diploma, and a minimum of four (4) years of related experience to include experience in Microsoft Office Suite. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that possess the following asset qualification:

  • Experience with Content Manager, TRMS, IRMA, SimpleIndex and Dtsearch;
  • General knowledge of the machinery of government.

Salary: $1,472 to $1,785 bi-weekly
