Acadia seeks an experienced and compassionate professional to fill the position of Coordinator, Sexualized Violence Response and Education. This person will lead Acadia's response to sexualized violence, and the education and training associated with the prevention of sexualized violence.
Reporting to the Director, Health, Counselling, and Accessibility, the Coordinator receives confidential disclosures of sexualized violence and responds to the needs of the students reporting in a timely manner from a survivor centered, empathetic, and trauma informed approach.
Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule which could include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The ideal candidate will have a degree (master's preferred) in sexual health promotion, social work, or law.
- Work experience with Sexual Assault response, gender violence, intersectionality, and a commitment to trauma informed care.
- Must have the ability to engage stakeholders in initiatives in order to generate participation and have the ability to communicate with and understand the needs of a diverse student population.
- Experience in the development, facilitation and delivery of workshops and presentations is highly desirable.
- The role will require someone who has superior communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, who is effective in their work, flexible to changing demands and works collaboratively, fostering teamwork.
- Demonstrated skill in the areas of effective decision making, innovative thinking and interpersonal relationships.
