The Vehicle Management Agency's mission is to provide fleet management and vehicle maintenance services to Government, on an economical basis and according to established standards, to enable clients to deliver quality services to the public.

What will you do?

As a Mechanic Supervisor and member of the Vehicle Management Agency, you will work under the direction of the Automotive Shop Superintendent and be responsible for:

  • Supervision of skilled mechanics, welders and other employees as assigned.
  • The administration, coordination, planning, scheduling, distributing and monitoring of the work activities to ensure compliance with all departmental policies and procedures
  • Ensure proper maintenance and repair of assets
  • Monitor shop budget
  • Public relations 

Work environment

  • Office location: 1310 Water Street Miramichi
  • Occasional work on weekends, travel and variable hours.

Essential Qualifications

  • Possession of Journeyperson's Certificates in a Truck and Transport Trades (T & T) as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
  • Five (5) years of recent experience in the mechanical trade including a minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Possession of a valid New Brunswick class 5 driver's license
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

SALARY: $27.20 per hour, 40 hour work week.
