The Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour is seeking an individual to join the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design as an Academic Dean in Fredericton.

As a member of the Campus Senior Management team and reporting to the Director, the successful candidate will provide leadership to the academic team with responsibility across a broad range of program areas typical of a college of craft and design. He/She will guide the college as it embraces new and emerging technologies, new program opportunities, curriculum innovation and the overall educational and training needs of the college community.

The incumbent will also be accountable for excellence in program planning and delivery, faculty development, strategic planning, academic curriculum and academic policies as well as building strong partnerships with the community that is served by the College.

As a member of the Campus Senior Management team, this position contributes to the overall leadership of NBCCD through strategic directions, participation in development of multi-year business plans, academic plans, annual budgets, community involvement, performance objectives, and regular review of actual performance in relation to plans.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: A master's degree in art, design, education or a related field and a minimum of six (6) years' related experience in a post-secondary education setting which must include (3) three years managerial responsibility for human and financial resources; OR a Bachelor's Degree in art, design, education or a related field and a minimum of eight (8) years' related experience in a post-secondary education setting which must include (3) three years managerial responsibility for human and financial resources. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate:

  • Leadership experience as a subject matter expert within a college or university environment offering Visual Art, Fine Craft or Design education;
  • Management experience of staff with teaching responsibilities.

Subject to the response to this call for expression of interest, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application the asset qualification in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

Salary: From $2,907 to $3,510 bi-weekly.
