The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking an individual to join the Saint John District as a Bridge Supervisor working in Renforth.

As a member of the Saint John District, the successful candidate:

  • will be responsible to direct groups of workers engaged in the maintenance of wooden, steel and concrete bridges and culverts.
  • This position will also require the supervision of employees engaged in the maintenance and repairs of bridges, buildings, and participation in these tasks, as well as in the inspection for
  • purposes of preventative maintenance.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or GED with a minimum of three (3) years' experience in the maintenance of bridges including a minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Possession of a valid New Brunswick Class 5 driver's license is also required.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate experience in the construction of bridges. Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application the asset qualification in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

The following operational requirements are also required: working on weekends and variable hours.

BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES: The successful candidate will possess the following behavioural competencies: Effective Interactive Communication, Team Leadership and Results Orientation.

SALARY: $24.22 per hour.
