Casual Expression of Interest

Radio Communications Branch

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking individuals for future and existing casual opportunities to join the Radio Communications Branch as PMCC Operators working in Fredericton.

As members of a high energy dispatch center team, the successful candidates' primary job functions will require the effective handling of radio and telephone traffic from various provincial departments, agencies, first responder community and the general public; the dispatching of various resources; monitoring of various alarm systems; record keeping; and maintaining and updating various data base applications. All operators are required to work various shifts on both a scheduled and on call basis.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or GED, supplemented by a minimum of a one (1) year post-secondary diploma in a related field and a minimum of three (3) years' experience in a field related to customer service OR graduation from high school or GED and a minimum of four (4) years' experience in a field related to customer service. Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office Suite Software is required. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English and spoken competence in French is required. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATION: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate dispatch/customer service experience. Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application the asset qualification in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

The following operational requirements are also required: shift work and on-call availability.

BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES: The successful candidate will possess the following behavioural competencies: Analytical Thinking/Judgment, Concern for Order, Effective Interactive Communication, Flexibility, Integrity, and Teamwork and Cooperation.

The successful applicant will be required to obtain a criminal record check.

SALARY: $20.30 to $24.62 per hour.
