Recreation Programmer PPT(0.8)

The Recreation Programmer reports directly to the Director of Recreation Therapy and Volunteer Services and is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating recreation programs. Duties also include assessing residents and documenting residents' participation and progress. The Recreation Programmer helps supervise volunteers.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the resident's leisure interests and records the results through recreation leisure profiles
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with the inter-disciplinary team in carrying out the resident's intervention plan and communicating resident's information to the team
  • Develope individual and group recreation programs

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 year post secondary diploma in Recreation/Leisure Studies or an undergraduate degree in Recreation
  • Must be creative and innovative
  • Sincerely enjoy working with seniors
  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience working in a health care setting
