Reporting to the MHTS Operations Support Lead, the MHTS Training Device Maintainer/Operator will perform required readiness checks on training device equipment. Maintainer/Operators are responsible for performing First to Third level scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions so as to ensure MHTC training device availability to satisfy approved training schedule. They may also be called upon to run the Instructor Station during planned training events responding to the requirements of the event or requests from the event Instructor.
- Operation of MHTS training devices suite equipment. Principally, the CH148 Flight simulator in standalone and Operational Mission Simulator modes;
- Achievement of approved MHTS operational and maintenance schedules;
- Accomplishment of the MHTS maintenance program;
- Support training device modifications as required including review/revision of testing documentation development and conduct as appropriate;
- Compliance with MHTS maintenance programs including but not limited to; tool control, safety training, fluid testing, network security compliance;
- Interaction with TCO personnel as required for schedule revision and development;
- Support completion, submission and approval of the MHTS Acceptance Test Procedures and Maintenance Program;
- Maintaining spares/inventory to ensure device availability.
- College diploma in Information Technology (IT);
- Extensive information technology background in server hardware, networking, troubleshooting, support and repair:
- Required:
- Windows Server support experience including Active Directory
- Network troubleshooting experience
- UNIX OS experience
- Computer hardware troubleshooting experience
- Shell scripting and batch file editing experience
- Desired:
- PHP/SQL programming experience
- Required:
- Proven ability in planning and problem solving;
- Attention to detail;
- Possess or be capable of attaining a NATO Secret security classification on hire;
- Excellent skills in oral and written communication;
- Time management;
- Ability to work well with others in a stressful, dynamic environment;
- Able to work with minimal supervision;
- Ability to work shift work;
- The following items are highly desirable and would be an asset on application:
- Experience with visual projection systems
- Experience with hydraulic systems
- Experience with UPS and high voltage three phase power
- Experience in the aviation industry (fixed or rotary wing)
- Previous simulator support or operation experience
