We are currently looking for a Regulatory Analyst to join our Corporate Regulatory Affairs team in a Permanent position. This position reports to the Manager, Regulatory Capital.
Key elements of this role include:
As a Regulatory Analyst you are
- Responsible to contribute to various regulatory capital matters, including large capital applications (such as the Annual Capital Expenditure Plan or Standalone Capital Applications), monthly capital packages and quarterly reports, compliance, and stakeholder engagement, as required
- Responsible for working with cross-functional teams within the company to resolve any issues and escalate risks/sensitives related to the files in your portfolio
- Expected to manage, prepare, and review capital applications and reports
- Responsible for developing internal processes and provide internal education sessions to enhance team understanding
- Expected to organize internal groups to meet compliance obligations and monitor the completion of directives from the provincial regulator
- To become knowledgeable about the subject matter which you are working on, and be able to distill the complex, technical nature of issues into understandable themes for teams, senior leaders, and executives

To thrive in this role, you recognize yourself in most of the following competencies and skills listed below:
- A bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Accounting or Engineering
- A minimum of 5 years' experience working in a business, audit, legal or regulatory environment.
- A motivated, team-oriented self-starter, with a high attention to detail, and excellent communication, analytical, organizational and advanced writing skills
- Ability and resilience to manage multiple competing priorities within tight deadlines
- Conform speaking in formal settings
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and SharePoint Online
- Eager to learn and familiarize yourself with NS Power's operations and business units as they relate to the files you are working on and to develop strong working relationships within the utility
- Ability to effectively work with and manage groups and have knowledge of general business principles. Knowledge of and experience working in regulated environment would be ideal
