The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking an individual to join the Traffic Operations unit of the Operations Branch as a Storekeeper II.

As a member of the Traffic Operations team at the Supply Depot, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the purchase, receipt, proper storage, issuance and control of items required for Traffic Operations (highway signing, lighting, detours, pavement markings, etc.), bridge Inventory, and other operations as required. Duties also include estimating/managing stock needs, inspecting goods received, shipping goods, approving invoices for payment, maintaining inventory and other stores records involving large stocks of various items, managing guiderail straightening and cutting of sign posts, t-bar, and extruded sign panel as required.

Responsibilities also include supervising staff including planning, assigning and reviewing work; communicating with vendors, various DTI and other GNB employees, and members of the public as required; managing the DTI fuel site and general custodial care of the traffic operations facilities, ensuring warehouse equipment is properly maintained, and other related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:  Graduation from high school or GED and a minimum of six (6) years of experience working in a stockroom/warehouse environment with at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Experience with Microsoft Office programs, knowledge of the Public Purchasing Act as well as experience with inventory system software is also required. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate experience in highway operations including related knowledge of signing, lighting, pavement markings, bridge components, etc. as well as experience using DTI's inventory management system. Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

SALARY: $24.22 per hour.
