Salary:

Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain, this position is responsible for supervising and sourcing work related to sourcing and contracting issues. in the facility and Operations departments.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction including mentoring, coaching, and performance management to the Procurement Team whose primary portfolio is the Facilities & Production Team. You will lead this team in best practices regarding sourcing and contracts management.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to identify, evaluate, and select suppliers and vendors for various materials, equipment, and services required for our Facilities & Production Operations along with other departments assigned in this portfolio.
  • Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors as the first point of contact representing Sinopec Canada. You will ensure timely delivery of quality materials and services, negotiate favorable terms and conditions, and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Cost Optimization: Drive cost-saving initiatives through effective negotiation, supplier consolidation, and process optimization while maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels to ensure adequate stock availability while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs.
  • Contract Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure compliance with terms, pricing, and delivery schedules. Work & collaborate with SCEL Legal on said contracts.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as Facilities, Production Engineering, Production Operations and other SCM Teams to align sourcing strategies with business objectives and production schedules.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to procurement and sourcing activities.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports and analysis on key performance metrics, supplier performance, cost savings, and other relevant KPIs to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Position Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Proven leadership experience in leading a team of professionals.
  • Rich experience in facility and operation sourcing event and contract management.
  • Provide sound business direction and guidance to our business leaders to align consistent procurement and contractor management standards.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills combined with strong influencing skills to work with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to establish goals and objectives within designated timeframes for successful execution of contracts.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity in all actions, complying with and promoting the company's core values, a respectful work environment and aligning with the code of business conduct and ethics.
  • Collect, analyze, and track lessons learned and share lessons learned with the broader supply chain team.
  • Ability to understand and work well in a diverse and multi-cultural environment.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with strong execution capability.
  • Good experience in business acumen including financial analysis, bidding methodologies, negotiations, contracting and contract law with creative ideas to capitalize on new opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline is preferred or substantial related work experience.
  • PMP or SCMP designation is a significant asset.
  • 3-5 years of previous people leadership experience is required.
  • Minimum10 years of experience in SCM in the Oil and Gas industry with SCM relevant qualification certificate.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
