Southern Irrigation is actively looking for a Full-Time Irrigation Designer for our Chilliawck location. The successful candidate should excel in attention to detail, have good communication skills, and a positive attitude.
Job Title: Irrigation Designer
Rate of pay: $80,000- $100,000/year plus benefits, depending on skills and experience
Job purpose: This position's primary responsibilities are to design agricultural and commercial irrigation systems.
Key Result Area
- Efficient irrigation system design including accurate parts lists completed in an efficient manner to best serve our customers.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Survey and assess sites as required
- Prepare drawings, sketches, and as-builts
- Design of nursery, greenhouse, acreage and large scale agricultural irrigation systems
- Design of pivot and lateral irrigation systems
- Use AutoCAD to do design layout and field mapping
- Use Irricad to do topographic design layout and field mapping
- Create take-offs and material lists for quotes
- Build jobs using Business Central
- Invoice jobs and extras
- Assist Inside and Outside Sales with CAD work as required
Competencies
- Aptitude for using computer software
- Experience and training in Lindsay Smart Suite an asset
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or IrriCAD
- Experience in creating plans, maps, models and schemes is preferred
- Conceptual and abstract thinking, with an eye for practical applications
- Ability to identify areas for improvement and contribute to potential solutions
- Strong task orientated individual
