About You: We are seeking a self-motivated and experienced Purchaser/Shipping Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Source and research potential products, vendors, and services to ensure the best options available.
  • Negotiate competitive pricing and ensure timely shipment of materials to meet production requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to improve pricing, quality, and delivery.
  • Plan and organize daily/weekly purchasing to meet production schedules.
  • Manage inventory levels and forecast needs to ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Create and issue purchase orders using established company procedures.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding stock availability, ETA, and product specifications.
  • Manage open purchase orders and update delivery dates as necessary.
  • Assess production schedules and react promptly to potential inventory issues.
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving of raw materials into the facility.
  • Estimate quantities of materials received and process shipping documents efficiently.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2-5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and QuickBooks software
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings (blueprints)
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
