How You Will Make an Impact

We are currently seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker to join our team, offering a dynamic role that encompasses a wide array of responsibilities to keep our facilities in top condition.

As part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Responsible to receive work orders and to satisfy their requirements as directed.
  • Monthly Fire Testing and have a good understanding of fire control systems
  • Experience with lock changes, dead bolts, handles of commercial systems
  • Participate in Snow Removal with other maintenance workers as required.
  • Must have well rounded handyman skills. General skills required including:
    • Plumbing repairs & installations
    • Repair or install electrical switches and receptacles.
    • Repair and finish drywall.
  • Participate in an on-call schedule every 5 weeks
  • Be organized, thorough, and able to handle various demanding projects at the same time.

This position requires a proactive individual who can effectively participate in different projects, including renovations, and who is committed to reporting any issues to the facilities or maintenance manager.

The ideal candidate will be someone who not only has the technical skills to perform their duties efficiently but also a strong commitment to adhering to quality standards and health and safety regulations. Your contribution will be invaluable in ensuring our facilities remain safe, functional, and welcoming.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

  • Grade 12 or equivalent and 3 years' experience in General Maintenance
  • Demonstrated experience in handy man skills, plumbing repairs, repair or install electrical switches and receptacles and repair and finish drywall.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • CPR/First Aid certification and WHMIS training or willing to acquire.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt in a fast paced and changing work environment.
  • Creativity and flexibility in achieving desired outcomes.
  • Hospitable in dealings with clients/public / volunteers / staff, and other key stakeholders.
  • Available and responsive to the needs of others.
  • Respectful and compassionate demeanor.
  • Good verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Valid non-probationary driver's license.
