WEISHAUPT DESIGN GROUP is a North American-based furniture retailer, manufacturer, and distributor engaged in both residential and contract markets, offering classic-contemporary designs with timeless style and enduring quality.

We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist. Reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate will be a highly motivated, confident self-starter, able to multi-task in a very fast paced, team-oriented environment. The candidate must also possess strong people skills and the ability to communicate professionally and courteously with business contacts and co-workers. Some bookkeeping support for the Personal Finance Manager of the President will also be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of accurate sub-processes within Accounts Payable
  • Process month end accruals related to accounts payable
  • Handling assigned client requests and fulfilling each request accurately and efficiently
  • Promptly manage new suppliers that are set up in the system
  • Identify process improvements, designing solutions, assisting in drive implementation, whilst coordinating with various stakeholders
  • Process vendor and employee expense payments including cheques, wire transfer, and Automatic Clearing House (ACH)
  • Reconciliation and timely payment of Corporate Credit Cards
  • Posting and keeping track of all payments, expenditures, purchase orders, invoices, statements, and any other varying company expenses
  • Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
  • Prepare the month end Accounts Payable Aging Report and other schedules as required
  • Creating payment templates for required vendor payments
  • Making payments to vendors by scheduling payment runs, ensuring payment is received for any outstanding credit
  • Tracking and posting corporate credit card expenses including the month end accruals
  • Processing refunds and commissions as per the request of Avenue Road sales teams
  • Responding to all vendor queries regarding finance
  • Conducting an analysis of accounts and producing monthly reports
  • Performing clerical functions within the Accounting Department including, but not limited to: filing, documenting information, preparing reports through Microsoft Excel, assisting team members
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as required

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience working in an Accounts Payable role
  • Previous experience with ERP systems, SAP B1 an asset
  • Previous experience with retail accounting and foreign currencies - preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency – ability to create highly accurate spreadsheets and pivot tables
  • Excellent communication skills, and confident speaking with employees at all levels
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar is required
  • Working towards or obtaining CPA Designation – nice to have
