WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Forestry Supervisor will be responsible for implementing the Forsite Health and Safety Program as well as assisting with scheduling, supervision, training, quality control, and leading a production field crew through various projects. Additionally, the Forestry Supervisor will support the Manager - Alberta in the preparation of project level budgets and plans and will work closely with other Forsite staff to effectively deliver projects.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • A safety conscious attitude, experience supporting safety programs, and developing a team safety culture;
  • Post-secondary education with a diploma or degree in forestry;
  • Registered, or meet the registration requirements, with the AAFMP as an RPF or RPFT;
  • A minimum of 3 years of field project management in Alberta including sample plot programs and harvest block & road layout;
  • Experience with harvesting operations is an asset;
  • Technical skills to support field data collection and data quality control;
  • A strong understanding of the forest legislation, regulation and policy impacting forest planning and management in Alberta including Alberta Timber Harvest Planning and Operational Ground Rules; and
  • Valid driver's license with a clean abstract.
