Tirecraft Ontario is a proudly Canadian owned and operated expert in tires and automotive services. This position is located out of our Support Centre in Ingersoll, ON. We are presently seeking an individual to assist in everyday problem-solving situations while offering strong internal customer communications across our multi-locations network in Ontario.

What we are looking for:

The Role: IT Manager – Someone to lead the team of IT Service Technicians possessing strong communication, organization, and technical skills to effectively manage all projects and priorities. This role will provide leadership and support to System Administrators and all information systems personnel and contractors. IT Manager will also oversee our company cell phone program through the monitoring of expenditures, establishment of cell phone plans which are cost effective and continually seeking leading edge technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Lead Member of projects, setting and maintain priorities based on current and changing company needs.
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks; look for inefficiencies. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for electronic data processing and operations systems and development.
  • Accomplishes information technology staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
  • Directs technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects.
  • Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and data center.
  • Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented. Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
  • Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  • Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Information Technology Systems Administrator
  • Minimum of 5+ years hands on field experience supporting a variety of networks/products/solutions/software with multi-location support
  • 5+ years IT Project Management skills and experience required.
  • Budgeting and cost allocation experience
  • Strong Problem-Solving skills required to trouble shoot all information technology issues (hardware/software/network)
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written; able to present ideas and information to non-technological users.
  • Ability to prioritize and maintain a busy project schedule; set goals and accomplish on time.
  • Enjoyment and keen ability for research and development
  • Software Requirements: VMWare/vSphere, Microsoft Office Suite: 2019, Office 365, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft remote desktop, Linux web server, as well as hardware troubleshooting, WIFI technologies, Teams and Zoom technology.
  • Hardware experience with HP server chassis, SAN/NAS architecture technologies personal computing hardware including laptop/desktop/monitors, printer/scanner technologies including all makes and models, Cisco networking, Sonic wall networking, Ubiquiti Android hardware technology, VOIP phone technology troubleshooting various types of cell phone technologies.
  • Internetworking skills: ability to troubleshoot various internet connections (DSL/Cable/Fiber), troubleshooting from the PC to the Router following the path of flow for network hardware such as NIC's, cables, switches, and routers.
