Labstat International Inc./Labs-Mart Inc. Inc. is an independent third-party testing laboratory that provides analytical services to the supplement, food and cannabis industry. Labstat International Inc./Labs-Mart Inc. Edmonton is a cGMP certified analytical laboratory and carries ISO 17025 accreditation.

We are seeking a 6 month Contract Analyst I - for our Edmonton location.

This position provides the opportunity to work for a growing company, achieve professional growth within the organization and cross-train in a variety of analytical chemistry techniques.

Reporting to the Senior Analyst/Team Lead, Analyst I will be responsible for the following:

• Routine testing of client-supplied samples in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Operation and maintenance of microbiology equipment.
• Quality control functions (i.e., media preparation, balance verification, water quality, etc.)

Skills required but not limited to:

1. Prepare media and cultures
2. Operate and maintain equipment in the microbiology laboratory
3. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly verifications
4. Weigh samples
5. Maintain records of raw data in lab notebooks
6. Record final data in LIMs database
7. Adhere to regulatory guidelines, including GMP and ISO17025.
8. Maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient analytical laboratory space.
9. The employee shall implement the Laboratory Quality Policy and perform their duties in accordance with existing project-specific requirements, current Test Methods, study plans, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
10. Compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures and wearing required Personal Protective equipment at all times
11. Other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements:

• BSc in Microbiology
• Experience in aseptic techniques and working with multiple bacterial cultures (i.e. listeria, E.coli)
• Working knowledge of GMP and/or ISO17025 guidelines
• Minimum 0-1 years commercial laboratory experience

Work Environment and Physical Demand:

• Requires light physical effort. Occasionally lifts or moves light objects (under 15 lbs.).
• Walks, sits or stands for prolonged periods.
• Requires prolonged machine operation including keyboard and computer.
