The PeopleSoft System Administrator collaborates with the organization's Applications, Database administrator and Core Technology teams to provide an advanced level of specialized expertise in monitoring the performance and maintaining the PeopleSoft 9.2 environments. The Administrator supports in creating Service Level Agreements, Standard Operating Procedures. Overall, this role ensures and maintains effective PeopleSoft database environments.What you will be doing:
  • Maintain effective relations with the organization's Applications, Database administrator and Core Technology teams to ensure effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of PeopleSoft 9.2 environments and related infrastructure
  • Perform large number of technical tasks focused on how the technology and the application layers are configured for PeopleSoft Finance and HCM modules
  • Provide Tier 2 support for development, test, and production application problems across multiple environments; analyses system log files to identify root cause of incidents, activates system trace or dump files to collect additional information environments; escalates unresolved application issues to vendor
  • Develop and implement PSOFT processes, guidelines, documentation and security measures keeping in mind standard industry practices / best practices. Ensure PeopleSoft system performance by performing system monitoring, analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting system hardware, software, operating and system management systems
  • Designs and runs system load/stress testing
  • Participate in system and performance testing
  • Working with the application business analysts provide programming/scripting assistance to support the Finance and Human Resources application changes
  • Ensures migration and deployment of application changes
  • Partner with the application support and core technology team to apply periodical patches and best practices to mitigate the risk and health of the PeopleSoft environments
  • Collaborate with Database administrator and Core Technology to manage systems for high availability and system performance
  • Engage Database team to ensure and maintain effective PeopleSoft database environments to support all business areas:
  • Daily production support of database application servers
  • Recommend, request and tune system monitoring
  • Proactively monitor and install patches and upgrades
  • Assist with making database table changes/additions to packaged software applications
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for installation and configuration of PeopleSoft system
  • Finalize technical Service Level Agreements after obtaining inputs and sign-off from all critical stakeholders within IIMS and across FNHA.
  • Review and document current state of PeopleSoft technical architecture
  • Contribute to procurement documents (RFX), and contracts
  • Contribute to Privacy and Security reviews and assessments
  • Leverage business and technical knowledge to make recommendations, influence business partners and management
  • Provide expertise to the Core Technology team for technical capacity resource planning, resource allocation and resource management
What you must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ITIL Foundation Version 3.0 Certification
  • Oracle WebLogic Server Certification is preferred
  • CompTIA Server+ is preferred
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Engineer (MCSE) is preferred
  • 5-7 years of practical experience working as a PeopleSoft System Administrator
  • Minimum of five (5) years of BC / Canadian healthcare project experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years technical experience with relational databases and data modelling
  • Excellent communication skills and command of the English language
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Advanced problem solving skills
  • Specific knowledge of PeopleTools preferably version 8.53 or 8.54
  • Solid working knowledge of PeopleSoft Security
  • Solid working knowledge of MS SQL Server 2012
  • Knowledge of ETL protocols
  • Knowledge of SDLC methodology
  • Knowledge of the Project Management Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
  • Knowledge of the community's healthcare and/or culture is an asset
  • Ability to work with application and technical teams and mentor IT colleagues;
  • Strong analytical, research, writing and communication skills;
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of key issues and opportunities for BC First Nations health and wellness;
  • Proven ability to work independently, as well as part of the team, to manage and prioritize, effectively, multiple competing projects/initiatives;
  • Is a team player with a strong customer service orientation and diplomacy while dealing with multiple stakeholders
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
