We are seeking experienced and dynamic EAL teachers to join our team. The EAL teachers will be responsible for teaching English to non-native speakers of all levels, developing lesson plans, assessing student progress, and providing feedback to students and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons that cater to the needs of individual students.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching techniques and materials to create a dynamic learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support to help students achieve their language goals.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to help students overcome language barriers and achieve fluency.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and instructional materials.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with the latest teaching methods and techniques.
  • Communicate regularly with students to provide updates on progress and discuss any concerns or questions they may have.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, TESOL, Linguistics, or a related field.
  • Possess a Languages Canada approved TEFL certificate or degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching ESL to students of all ages and levels preferred.
  • Dynamic and engaging teaching style, with a passion for helping students achieve their language goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Knowledge of the latest teaching methods and techniques, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Native-level proficiency in English.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Pay is dependent on experience, qualifications, and which course you are teaching:
  • Hourly rates vary between $23.75 to $26.72 per hour (including prep time) and higher for specialty classes.
  • Administrative duties and meetings are paid at $18.50 per hour.
  • Central location.
