About the role:

The Account Director will lead the team to create impactful and effective work across a portfolio of brands. This role will deliver an exceptional level of strategic thinking, client service and creative thinking as we build a new Toronto studio for our existing client. As an Account Director, you will develop and build strong relationships with clients at a senior level, becoming a trusted and valued advisor.

Reporting to the Sr Business Director, this position will oversee a Project Manager and be part of the leadership team overseeing the Canadian studio. This role is part of the wider North America team serving the US and Canada. This is a global account with studios across the world that operate as part of a global network. This is a client-facing hybrid in office role. You will partner daily with regional teammates across project management, copy, and production.

What you will be doing:
  • Work in true collaboration with the client and be responsible for Brand Guardianship on their projects to ensure that the client experience is as positive as possible
  • Develop client relationships as part of the business pipeline
  • Managing projects from beginning to end with clear communication on a regular basis on milestones, targets, goals and deadlines
  • Own the execution of projects and client satisfaction through catchups with job owners and the weekly account/project management status
  • Escalation point if the client or internal SLA's and processes are not adhered to, or where there are process gaps while ensuring that these are captured along with a suggestion for improvement, and work with the Sr Business Director to rectify
  • Partner with the Art Director on the overall management of the studio team as well as large scale projects with clients
  • Manage the project list and demand planning for the annual year scope of work in partnership with the Sr Business Director
What you need to be great in this role:
  • 7+ years of relevant experience within Account Management
  • Experience in CPG (Alcoholic Beverages) preferred
  • Experience working within a portfolio of brands
  • Excellent client engagement skills with the ability to proactively organize and influence clients and build strong and effective working relationships
  • Excellent account leadership skills with developed creative judgment, strategic thinking, talent management and business growth
  • First-rate communications skills, with the ability to be articulate in person and in writing and strong presentation skills with an innate rapport build
  • Ability to manage and develop junior team members
  • Understanding of how to integrate with a client-side team whilst maintaining a top tier agency service
  • Creativity with the ability to generate ideas and practically contribute to studio output
