Evolve Recycling is looking for full-time permanent Lead Operators to work in our tire recycling facility in Brantford, ON. Evolve Recycling is Canada's leader in tire recycling turning used tires into usable products such as multi-purpose matting, artificial sports surfaces and other innovative products.

We have 2 shifts available:

Continental Night Shift: 7pm-7am (Straight nights)

Continental Night Shift: 7am-7pm (Straight days)

Wage: $26/hr (plus shift premiums where applicable)

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Start-up and shutdown of machines
  • Complete pre-start checklists and daily production reports
  • Assist with scheduled maintenance (bi-weekly)
  • Identify problem areas, recommend, coordinate, troubleshoot, and implement solutions
  • Help to establish clear expectations of teams and set an example
  • Follow and aid in enforcing the safety rules and guidelines
  • Monitor belts to ensure no jams, stoppages, overall performance of machine
  • Monitor metal detectors and look for contaminants in material (metal, wood, debris, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and make adjustments as required
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Assist other operators when required
  • Able to accurately identify areas of the machines, perform small repairs
  • To be a part of the performance review processes
  • To be a part of the coaching processes
  • Maintain professional confidentiality
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years in an Industrial Manufacturing environment
  • Strong team building and team leadership with experience in a leadership role
  • Proven experience in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
  • Must be mechanically inclined with good problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attendance & punctuality
  • Fast learner who is able to follow instructions
  • Able to stand for duration of shift and constantly lift up to 50lbs
  • Previous experience as a machine operator in a production/manufacturing facility is an asset
  • Strong computer skills specifically MS Word, Excel and Outlook
