OVERVIEW

Under the direction of the Pipeline Engineering Manager the Facilities Integrity Engineer will be part of a team responsible for all facets of integrity pipeline &facility projects for our existing and prospective clients. Specifically provide engineering support and management for various projects like integrity program development. This person will have expertise in piping, valves, pumps, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • API 579 FFS Level 1, 2 and 3 engineering assessments (INSPECT software for Level 1 and 2; FEA software for Level 3):
    • brittle fracture,
    • blistering,
    • HIC,
    • laminations,
    • dents,
    • corrosion,
    • (all assessments covered under API 579)
  • Vessel re-rates using INSPECT software (pressure, temperature) including checking nozzle loads, vessel re-designs, re-registering,
  • Piping assessments, such as vibration, includes boots on the ground
  • TML optimization
  • Tmin calculations
  • Remaining life calcs
  • MDMT assessments
  • Gasket stress/torque calcs
  • Site audits to bring up to code
  • EWP's (e.g. turnaround support)
  • Provide support to API 510 and 570 inspectors
  • Review potential compliance issues
  • Review threats and damage prevention issues
  • Maintenance support (memo/drawing/calc/assessment) for replacement parts.
    • Per BC-ER new legislation, my understanding is owners now require engineering sign-off for many operation and maintenance activities that were previously completed in-house. Not all Owner's PMP allow for in-house engineer's to sign-off. Lauren can provide review/deliverables/sign-off.
  • Experience or certification to API 571 Corrosion and Materials, API 577 Welding Inspection and Metallurgy, and API 580 Risked Based Inspection is an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 7+ years of formal training and experience in engineering design or EPC projects
  • Must be licensed as a professional engineer registered, or eligible for registration, with EGBC or APEGA
  • Experienced with CSA Z662

SKILLS

  • Must possess engineering skills and be capable of interacting with all engineering disciplines
  • Must be familiar with applicable codes, standards, and acceptable industry practices, etc.
  • Experience related to Major Projects, phase gated project processes, and Supply Chain Management procurement processes is an asset
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of interacting with peers, project managers, site managers and clients
  • Must have a proven track record of accomplishment as an engineer and be capable of working in a team of engineers, designers, and support personnel
  • Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, Bluebeam
  • Role requires valid driver's license
