What We're Looking For

We are looking to add a strategic Creative Director to our Marketing Design Team.

Using your deep understanding of our clients and their goals, you'll lead our team in innovative design tactics. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Define and implement strategic and creative approaches for engagements, ensuring alignment with industry trends, recent data, and insights.
  • Lead and facilitate creative meetings, workshops, and presentations with external and internal stakeholders, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of client creative and business objectives to translate briefs into compelling, effective creative concepts and campaigns.
  • Maintain and enhance client relationships by directing creative solutions, providing support to internal stakeholders, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Present and defend creative concepts to achieve internal and external alignment, communicating ideas effectively and persuasively.
  • Utilize data insights and analytics, collaborating with performance marketing teams to optimize and iterate creative campaigns for maximum impact and ROI.
  • Explore and champion design and AI trends and tactics, enhancing Northern's creative offering, client value, and competitive positioning in the market.
  • Define and uphold best practices for training, tools, design processes, and quality standards, ensuring consistency and excellence in all creative deliverables.
  • Manage team efficiency and budget usage, providing support for resource allocation and project management.
  • Formulate policies, procedures, and strategic plans for future department growth and project delivery, contributing to Northern's overall success and expansion.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors that contribute to Northern's service offerings, capabilities, and overall project success, ensuring effective partnerships.
  • Lead team meetings, provide direction for the department's growth and development, implement professional development strategies for the team, and provide regular performance feedback to direct reports, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and growth.

Knowledge, Education & Experience Required

  • 7-10 years' experience, preferably as an Art Director or Creative Director in an agency environment
  • 5+ years' experience managing a team
  • A College diploma, University degree in a related field
  • A portfolio with conceptual examples of websites, eCommerce, packaging, brand development, and digital marketing, including paid advertising
  • Proficient in the fundamentals of graphic design and the functionality and utilization of the extended Adobe Suite and Sketch
  • Experience directing projects that meet accessibility and UI standards combined with UX research

  • Proficiency with Animation, after effects
