Job Title: Team Lead - Network ServicesJob ID: RO53991753Location: Victoria, BC - HybridOverview:As a member of our client's network and telecommunications department, you will be a savvy Team Lead who will support their professionals in the design and implementation of network infrastructures. As the Team Lead, you'll be responsible for providing direction in the areas of core networking, voice, wireless, and security, and ensuring that the appropriate service levels are met. The incumbent will be responsible for delivering the systems and processes to support the voice and data services at the company's offices, terminals, and vessels. The position also requires the individual to handle confidential matters and information with a high degree of integrity. What you will be doing:
  • Provide daily guidance and supervision to Network and Telecommunications staff, and is responsible for hiring, training, performance management, and termination.
  • Acts as an infrastructure specialist overseeing the installation, configuration, and monitoring of the networking systems.
  • Provide “expert level” technical guidance for the Network and Telecommunications platform.
  • Resolves complex customer problems and recommends appropriate strategies for the networking environment.
  • Manage networks and telecommunications systems for all offices, terminals, and vessels throughout the fleet;
  • Provide guidance, strategies, and technical expertise on the design of the voice and data network architecture.
  • Ensure the security of the data and voice networks.
  • Assist in the development and management of SLAs for networking infrastructure.
  • Develop benchmarks for performance and capacity of network and voice systems.
  • Develop an overall network and telecommunications disaster recovery and failover strategy.
  • Provide input into budgetary planning, management, and variance explanations for the networking environment.
What you must have:
  • Degree or diploma in Computer Systems or an IT-related discipline from a recognized university, college, or technical school.
  • CCNA and CCNP certifications would be an asset.
  • ITIL and COBIT training would be an asset.
  • Extensive experience building, maintaining and providing support for Network and Voice environments in an enterprise Information Technology setting.
  • Considerable experience supporting an enterprise VoIP solution.
  • Extensive experience building and supporting wireless networks such as; satellite, radio, and WiFi.
  • Experience managing and supervising teams of employees and establishing strong working relationships with vendors
  • Knowledge of Cisco network routers and switches, WAN technologies, Cellular, Satellite Communications, and their interoperability within a complex network.
  • Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communication systems, Unity Voicemail, Contact Centre, and Cisco voice gateways.
  • Strong knowledge of efficiently installing and maintaining network communications equipment and cabling, including diagnosing and correcting complex technical problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow through on commitments and acknowledge and assume responsibility for work, actions, and decisions.
  • Ability to convey complex and technical issues to diverse audiences, orally and in writing, in a manner that is easily understood, authoritative and actionable for the business.
