SLCS is currently seeking a Full-Time Finance Associate. Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Services, you will provide support and duties relating to accrual-based accounting and SLCS finances. Your responsibilities would include entering and reconciling transactions such as A/P, cheques, invoices, and housing subsidies. You would be preparing and inputting data that would flow into monthly and quarterly financial reports, as well as supporting our annual audits. In addition, the successful candidate will be organizing and filing financial records, and will be proficient in using excel and, ideally, QuickBooks.

You will be able to work within a team environment, while maintaining strict confidentiality. You will have the ability to work independently while also have a strong organizational ethic through tight deadlines. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all the applicable and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • University degree or 2 – 3-year College diploma from an accredited institution in accounting/finance or related field
  • 1 - 3 yrs. accounting/bookkeeping (non-profit preferred)
  • Valid G2 or G Class License and a reliable vehicle
  • Candidates who are proficient in both official languages of Canada will be considered an asset
