Position Overview:

The Director of Sales and Marketing will be a pivotal leader in shaping and executing the strategic vision for the Sales and Marketing division. This executive will join the executive team and be responsible for driving revenue growth, overseeing marketing strategies, and ensuring the successful monetization of our fiber network services. Direct reports may include Sales Managers, Marketing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the strategic plan for the Sales and Marketing division in alignment with overall company goals.
  • Identify market trends, opportunities, and potential risks to make informed business decisions.
  • Business Development: Drive revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new market opportunities, strategic partnerships, and innovative sales channels.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.

Marketing and Branding:

  • Oversee the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies to promote our fiber optic services.
  • Manage brand positioning, ensuring alignment with the company's mission and values; and
  • Executive strategies with a dual employee and agency model

Operational Excellence:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination between sales, marketing, and operations.
  • Implement and optimize processes to enhance service quality, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • Align sales strategies to drive operational efficiencies within other CFOC business units.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the Sales and Marketing budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions when necessary.

Team Leadership:

  • Build and lead a high-performing Sales and Marketing team, providing clear direction and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Mentor and develop team members to drive professional growth and succession planning.

Market Intelligence:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to drive effective decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Experience within Sales and Marketing, preferably in the telecommunications industry and/or the rural Canadian marketplace.
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and achieving financial targets.
  • Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing strategies, sales techniques, and industry best practices.
  • Understanding of the Canadian rural demographic, their needs, wants, and consumer behaviors.
  • Additional valuable skills in product development, organizational skills, and understanding of telecom operations, with a focus on fiber network construction.
