What You'll Do:

The HR and Payroll Coordinator plays a pivotal support role in guiding leaders and staff through the employment lifecycle, from hiring to retirement. They are entrusted with maintaining the integrity of processes and data within the Human Resources Information and Payroll system, actively contributing ideas and solutions to enhance HR administration functions. Moreover, this position provides vital administrative support for bi-weekly payrolls, benefits, and pension programs, serving as a valued member of the dedicated Human Resources team at Provincial Credit Union.

HR Coordination:

  • Manage the HR Inbox, answering queries and providing information and assistance to leaders and staff regarding PCU policies, procedures, and Employment Standards Act.
  • Monitor end of probation and annual performance reviews, alerting leaders as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee and HR files, records, and documentation.

Payroll and Benefits Administration:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll, including preparation and balancing of payroll accounts, preparation of T-4s, and making payroll remittances.
  • Administer the Salary Administration program, including preparation of payroll paperwork for new hires, terminations, and salary changes.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.
  • Manage employee leave process and serve as a key contact for staff on leave.

HRIS and Data Management:

  • Ensure integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Manage tasks related to onboarding, status changes, and offboarding.
  • Maintain and update HR records on HR information system.

Team Support and Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the HR team members regarding staffing changes to provide seamless transitions for new and existing employees.
  • Support the process of merit increases, cost of living increases, incentive payouts, and salary adjustments with high attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with the HR team on various projects and initiatives.

What You Have:

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Certified Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR coordination and payroll administration.

  • Salary range for this position: $50,941 - $59,931.
