Job Title: Intermediate RF/Mixed Signal EngineerJob ID: AM54694152Location: Mississauga, ON Overview:Our client is looking to recruit an Intermediate Mixed-Signal and RF Engineer to join their amazing team. You will participate in projects to design, build, test, and deliver Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) hardware products or modules. What you will be doing:Project Execution
  • Prepare Mini Project Authorization, PII, and PEP documents
  • Establish Work-Breakdowns (WBS), and task estimates for project plans
  • Track own time and expenses spent on projects and monitor project alignment with budget
  • Lead mini projects and provide regular progress updates to the area lead
  • Support reviews of project schedules
  • Lead discussions, and presentations at team and department review meetings
Technical Knowledge
  • Leads the design, build, test and delivery of hardware products or modules
  • Design, build, test and deliver hardware products or modules
  • Create schematics, PCB layouts using CAD software and be versed in creating DIPs in SSIP documentation system
  • Lead the design of RF and high-speed circuits and devices including prototyping, testing and debugging
  • Lead high-speed data acquisition designs in the analog and digital aspects
  • Design, and test antennas and other devices that are the sensors used in electromagnetic fields
  • Design and develop microprocessor systems, programmable logic, and high-level I/O sub-systems of data acquisition platforms
  • Lead design and implementation communications with intra-, and inter-system I/O interfaces, and protocols
  • Debug hardware and software and design and document test procedures for debugging and testing
  • Regularly seek out the current electronics-industry design and production methods and use in all device development
  • Understand current mechanical-industry production methods, software design tools and capabilities, and apply in device development
  • Able to engage with vendors to resolve issues
  • Undertake device testing and compliance with ITE and GPR regulatory standards, and testing methods and apply to products we develop
  • Perform root-failure analysis on electronic systems
  • Develops full hardware specifications
  • Design, build, test, and document prototypes
  • Document and describe principles of operation of designs and devices; this includes crafting drawing and signal charts and related materials and getting them into the SSIP system
  • Create production and service documentation
  • Design/Create/Document assembly and test jigs
  • Proactively lead product life-cycle support activities: Issue resolution, end-of-life
  • Lead in designing solutions with testing, manufacturability and service in mind (DFx)
  • Supports, and suggests new technology trends from the industry
  • Mentor, and train new staff on key products and procedures.
What you must have:
  • Proficient at schematic and PCB layout CAD software, and concepts; a. OrCAD and PADS is preferred, or ability to learn it.
  • Proficient with modern RF and high-speed design techniques
  • Proficient at digital, and analog circuit design;
  • Proficient at RF circuit simulation;
  • Proficient with high-speed data acquisition design;
  • Good understanding of electromagnetic radiation, antennas;
  • Proficient with microprocessor systems, programmable logic, and high-level I/O sub-systems, data acquisition elements;
  • Proficient with intra-, and inter-system I/O interfaces, and protocols;
  • Firmware development, low-level hardware programming;
  • Able to debug hardware, and software;
  • Good understanding of current electronics-industry production methods, and capabilities
  • Good understanding of ITE, and GPR regulatory standards, and testing methods;
  • Participate in product approvals
  • 5 to 10 years of experience required
  • Bachelors (4-year) degree in EE or CE
