Please Note: This is a 6-12 month contract position with a possibility of extension and/or permanency.
Mandate:
Reporting to the Customs Manager, the Customs Associate is responsible for gathering information needed to complete rating and clearances of shipments and communicate this information directly to a portfolio of clients. The associate must have a basic understanding of customs processes in order to deal with possible client issues and resolve them. The associate will also collaborate with internal customs raters as well as the freight department in order to ensure the accuracy of information needed to clear a given shipment.
Other Responsibilities:
• Acting as the point of contact between Delmar and its customers
• Building and establishing customer relationships
• Providing shipment information upon request
• Coordinating Customs entries adjustments based on customer request
• Updating customer profile notes for internal purposes to ensure entries are rated correctly
• Suggesting and initiating improvements on processes between Delmar and customers
• Actively listening to clients to better understand their needs and address any issues or concerns
• Other tasks as assigned
Requirements:
• Minimum 2-4 years of Customer Service experience, preferably related to Customs Services
• College diploma or equivalent
• Good knowledge of Customs regulations is an asset
• Bilingual (French and English) would be an asset
