We are currently seeking to add a Heavy Haul Driver to our team.

Job Type: Permanent

Job Location: Based out of Calgary, Alberta. Travel within Western Canada (primarily Alberta).

Shift Schedule: 60-70 hours per week. This position is required to stay overnight in the truck at times.

The Heavy Haul Driver is responsible for transporting heavy equipment between maintenance yards, repair shops, KBL sites, and project sites throughout Western Canada. The majority of operations will be within Alberta.

Tasks

  • Maintain effective communication with the Dispatch and Logistics teams and follow directions as required.
  • Conduct mandatory inspections such as pre and post-trip inspections.
  • Maintain HOS compliance using Elogs.
  • Assess assigned loads by confirming load measurements, including dimensions and weight distribution, additional rigging equipment requirements, and potential safety concerns.
  • Transport over-dimensional loads using multi-axle trailers within Western Canada.
  • Coordinate with Dispatch for required permits or interpretation.
  • Maintain housekeeping of the overall truck and trailer.

Qualifications

  • Class 1 driver's license with air brake and a clean driver's abstract.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience operating a flat deck/bed.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating oversized/over dimensional loads.
  • Multi-axle experience.
  • Good communication skills, bot verbal and written.
  • Sound understanding and interpretation of safety regulations, safe work practices, and work procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong stress management and time management skills.
