We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Manager to lead our technical department, overseeing software development, quality assurance (QA), IT operations, databases, and machine learning (ML) engineering teams. The Technical Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the development and execution of our technical strategy, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services that meet the needs of our clients and partners. As the company is in a high-growth state, this position presents abundant growth opportunities, enabling the Software Development Manager to potentially lead the entire technical department as the company expands.

What You'll Get To Do:

Strategic Technical Readiness

  • Ensure the technical department is strategically prepared to meet current and future needs of the company.
  • Develop and execute plans to enhance technical capabilities, anticipate technological advancements, and align with organizational goals.

Scalability Preparation and Ownership

  • Take ownership of the technical department, overseeing its growth, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Implement strategies to ensure scalability of systems, processes, and teams to support the company's growth trajectory.

Stakeholder Management and Communication

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, all internal departments, product owners, and executives, to ensure alignment with business objectives and priorities.
  • Manage expectations and communicate effectively to ensure alignment with business objectives and priorities.

Resource Management and Budgeting

  • Manage departmental budgets.
  • Allocate resources and oversee procurement processes.

Performance Management and Mentorship

  • Conduct performance assessments.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to team members.

Time Off Management and Resource Planning

  • Oversee time off requests and scheduling.
  • Plan resources to ensure adequate coverage and team productivity.

Software Development Leadership

  • Set clear goals and priorities for the software development team.
  • Define timelines to deliver scalable and robust solutions.

Quality Assurance Oversight

  • Establish rigorous testing processes and standards.
  • Ensure the reliability and performance of the platform through QA procedures.

IT Operations Management

  • Ensure the smooth operation and security of infrastructure.
  • Manage network infrastructure, servers, and cloud services.

Database Optimization Direction

  • Provide strategic direction for database management.
  • Offer technical guidance for database optimization to support business operations and data analytics.

Machine Learning Engineering Direction

  • Lead the development and implementation of machine learning models and algorithms.
  • Enhance the platform's capabilities and performance through ML engineering initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with product management, marketing, and sales teams.
  • Align technical initiatives with business objectives and priorities.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives

  • Drive initiatives to optimize processes and enhance productivity.
  • Streamline workflows within the technical department to improve efficiency.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience overseeing Software development, QA, IT, DB, ML teams.
  • Previous experience (5+) in a leadership or management role, with a track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proven experience (10+) in software development, with expertise in one or more programming languages and technologies. Backend engineering expertise preferred.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving results and achieving business objectives.
