Stretch Construction Ltd is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Accountant to join our dynamic team in British Columbia. As a Project Accountant, you will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of construction projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities:

  1. Receive, verify, and enter subcontractor and supplier invoices in financial software
  2. Provide Project Manager and project team with required cost reporting and variance analysis
  3. Produce monthly progress billings in financial software, with direction from Project Managers
  4. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for management and clients as required
  5. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies and industry standards
  6. Perform weekly Accounts Payable EFT/cheque payment runs for vendors on assigned projects
  7. Collaborate on project cash flow projections and schedules with Project Manager and Director of Finance
  8. Ensure all accounting deadlines are met with regards to month end posting cut-off and client submission requirements
  9. Show expertise in construction contract documentation including CCDC standard contracts and lien legislation
  10. Perform miscellaneous accounting duties as required in support of Director of Finance and Construction Services Department

Qualifications:

  1. Certificate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  2. Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry
  3. Proficiency in ERP accounting software and MS Excel
  4. Experience with Procore is an asset
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
