Primoris Canada is a infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and include services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.

SUMMARY

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing the daily site inspections and applicable reports as detailed in the Quality Control Manual.

  • Anticipated Start Date: ASAP
  • Location: Acheson Yard (Acheson, AB) and Fabrication Shop (Edmonton, AB)
  • Shift: 4&3 Nights - 10 hours per day (4:30pm to 3:00am), Monday to Thursday
  • Premium: $3.00/hour night shift premium

JOB DUTIES

  • Perform and report visual inspections as outlined in the WD & prepare clear and accurate reports
  • Build effective relationships with all crew members, fitters, welders, etc.
  • Assist in welder and craftsmen training with regard to Quality requirements
  • Assist other Inspectors in the course of their duties
  • Ensure the project T.P is followed
  • Perform and report dimensional control inspections and reporting on spools prior to welding
  • Perform and record material verification as required
  • Record and report all non-conformances
  • Clear understanding of procedures, specifications, and tolerances for all work in process
  • Perform and report all final inspections
  • Participate in the investigation of non-conformances and corrective action resolution as required
  • Inspect and verify the completion of all punch list items
  • Upon completion of inspections, advise production personnel of results
  • Actively participate in company safety procedures and programs, correct unsafe work practices and situations, follow reporting protocols for any violations, and participate in the Hazard identification process
  • Various other duties as requested by management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Industrial construction experience is an asset
  • CWB welding inspector qualifications – CSA W178.2 Level 1 or 2
  • Sound knowledge of all N.D.E processes used in the industry
  • Sound knowledge of ASME B31.3, pressure piping code, and regulatory requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Able to interact with all levels of management
  • Detail-orientated
  • Advanced computer skills with proficiency in use of MS Office products
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to represent the company in a professional and courteous manner
  • Organized and self-motivated
