New Westminster Surgical Centre, a division of Clearpoint Health Network is recruiting for an experienced RN – Operating Room. The centre has 4 operating rooms specializes in Orthopedics, General, Plastics, Back & Spine, Colonoscopy, Endoscopy. The centre is recruiting for an experienced Registered Nurse- OR. We are hiring Casual, Part Time and Full Time.

Minimum Requirements

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program combined with 2 – 3 years recent experience in an acute care operating room
• Active/eligible for registration and practice permit with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals.
• Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) perioperative nursing certification/Completion of a post-secondary educational institution perioperative nursing program/Equivalent in education and experience.
• Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary team of care providers, with emphasis on assessment, education, prevention, maintenance, and restoration of patient health

Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the British Columbia Human Rights Code.

Physical Requirements:

• The work environment is very physically demanding and may require different levels of physical exertion, such as lifting and transferring patients.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull more than 25 pounds.
• There is a lot of above shoulder requirements for prepping and positioning patients.
• At times, RNs may work in challenging and stressful circumstances, such as in an emergency situation.
• During the course of their work RNs may be exposed to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, chemicals and other safety hazards.
