Your role?

As a vital member of the iFinance Canada Finance Team, the Accounting Analyst will be responsible for the analysis of the accounting activities of the organization, monitoring for efficiencies and inefficiencies, data quality and reporting to contribute to the organization's financial growth. Key responsibilities include full cycle accounting including the review of daily accounting transactions, month-end reporting, data analysis and other project-based ad-hoc tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of activities related to month-end closing and various balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Responsible for review of daily accounting transactions including client loan accounts and communicating and collaborating with other departmental members to rectify any errors/ discrepancies.
  • Work closely with other departments regarding loan account adjustments.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
  • Work on special projects based on departmental and company/business needs including system implementation, upgrades and other ad-hoc requests.

What We're Looking For:

  • 5 years of related progressive experience in Accounting
  • University degree/College diploma in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience
  • Great interpersonal skills as this role involves interdepartmental collaboration
  • Attention to detail with an eye for critical thinking
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective and efficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the financial industry is an asset
