Your day at Trim Landscaping:

We are seeking a hard-working and reliable Lead hand to join our PEI team. You will participate in a variety of construction projects and follow construction plans and instructions from the Operations Manager and General Manager. You will lead your team in the start up of projects. On any given day, you will be in charge of demo, excavation, drainage and rough grading for all landscape projects which could be pools, retaining walls, sidewalks, foundations, topsoil & sod/hydroseed any much more!

Responsibilities:

  • Instruct employees in proper work methods and standards; monitor crew work quality; ensure adherence to time schedules and safe work practices,
  • Safety – Wear appropriate PPE for the job, report accidents and near misses, participate in safety briefings
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new skills
  • Show up on time with a positive attitude, ready, willing, and capable of working for the day.
  • Assign daily tasks to crew members to complete weekly goals. (Given by Operations manager)
  • Perform labor-intensive tasks
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, meetings & administration daily
  • ­Morning huddles
  • Timesheets with notes, pictures, correct times & correct jobsite tasks
  • ­Toolbox Talks on weekly basis
  • ­T&M sheets with labor, equipment & materials
  • Being organized for the week to stay ahead of your team.
  • Order and/or coordinate daily materials or products that are needed.

Job Requirements:

  • High school graduation required; associate's degree preferred.
  • Four years of relevant experience is required with two years in a supervisory capacity preferred
  • Able to read and understand blueprints or design specifications
  • Understand and use of a laser level
  • Able to layout a project and bring materials to final grades
  • Condition 15 (trailer license - considered an asset)
