The team are makers of bespoke consumer brands and companies, backed by data and co-founded with people of influence. Founded in Vancouver, BC Canada and Los Angeles, CA, The company identifies white spaces in popular culture and entertainment trends to ideate, co-found, and develop transformative direct-to-consumer products, technology and companies for highly engaged pop culture audiences in partnership with CAA. We are looking for an experienced and astute Senior Accountant to provide financial direction and support to help our early-stage brands and companies build a strong financial plan and foundation to achieve their goals and grow and scale.What you will be doing:

• Develop, implement and maintain the accounting systems for the company and its portfolio of brands and companies including driving regular A/P and A/R, banking and payroll processes.
• Prepare profit and loss models, balance sheets and other management reports, using Microsoft Excel to forecast financial outcomes
• Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements
• Government and Tax Compliance (HST, EHT, and grant applications)
• Cash/Treasury Management
• Perform budgeting variance and forecasting analysis for various levels of management
• Maintain confidential financial information
• Assist product managers on how to deliver and communicate financial outcomes in investor communications
• Manage the budget and forecasting process

What you must have:

• A Bachelor's Degree in business with a focus on accounting or finance is required; a master's degree in business administration (MBA) and or a professional certification such as a chartered professional accountant (CPA) designation is a plus.
• 5+ years of finance or accounting experience
• Comfortable with cloud-based accounting including Xero and Quickbooks Online
• Able to translate accounting data into useful reporting to management utilize the existing systems supplemented with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience working in a dynamic and fast paced environment
• Understand how to work through complex operational and accounting challenges and models
• Excellent analytical skills and financial modelling experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and technical skills
