Position Summary:
Join our team as a Youth Farmers Market Facilitator, where you'll deliver an entrepreneurial farmers market program focused on Indigenous youth. The Youth Farmers Market (YFM) will be held for 8 weeks during the summer.

With your facilitation and support, participants in the program will not only enhance their entrepreneurial skills but also contribute to local agriculture and food security within their communities.

Position is based in Potlotek First Nation. Travel is required for field trips.

Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and assist youth throughout the YFM program.
  • Plan day to day duties and operations of the YFM Program
  • Organize and oversee logistics for a smooth and well-organized youth farmer's market.
  • Conduct and support workshops/training sessions for program participants.
  • Guide youth through constructive feedback to enhance entrepreneurial skills.
  • Supervision and support of event logistics, communications, YFM program budgeting.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of financial literacy is an asset.
  • Gardening experience is an asset
  • Experience growing a garden is an asset.
  • Previous experience in supporting in supporting coordination and logistics for events.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with youth and foster a sense of community.
  • Ability to adapt to diverse environments and work collaboratively with different personalities.
  • A genuine interest in supporting the personal and entrepreneurial growth of youth participants and the food security of their community.
  • Class 5 vehicle licence and access to a vehicle is required.
