We're expanding our finance department and are looking for a Accounting & Administrative Assistant to join our team. Working closely with our Head of Finance, we're looking for someone proactive, detail oriented, and who has basic knowledge of basic accounting principles.
This is a remote role based anywhere in Canada.
ABOUT YOU
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- Experience with the Xero accounting software is an asset
- At least 2 years of experience in an accounting clerk or bookkeeping role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets (Vlookup, Pivot Tables, Data extraction)
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
IN THIS ROLE, YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
- Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents for the account receivable process and sales team support
- Process invoices and payments
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions
- Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting
- Communicate with vendors and customers regarding billing and payment issues
- Handle other accounting tasks as assigned
